I like to keep things simple wherever possible. I write books not legal contracts and I don’t think you really need a lot of small print before enjoying one of my books! That said, there are certain rules and regulations I have to comply with to advertise or to hold any of your data, so below you can see my position on how I treat your data. It’s only relevant if you’ve signed up to my mailing list (which you should definitely do by the way).
What information do I collect? And why?
To contact you I need your email address and I also ask for your name so that I can write to you more personally. I might occasionally survey you to find out about the habits of my readers, you’re under no obligation to reply to any of those surveys. If you do you’re consenting for me to use the information you provide to write better books or tell you about relevant offers (but never to share your information with anyone else).
Who is collecting it?
Me, Michael Lancashire.
How do I collect it?
I ask for your details when you sign up to my mailing list. That might happen via my mailing list provider or various social media platforms.
Do I ever share it with anyone else?
No. I occasionally enter into agreements with other authors to let you know about their books but I send any emails you receive, I never provide your name or email address to them.
That’s it. I said it was simple.
